Six the Musical

Hi, I'm back!

I know it's really unfortunate that you have to from my crazy self. Well if you are one of my friends that I have told about my very inconsistent trash where I spill my guts. Can you please don't call or text me with roasts or messed up comments; like I know I have nothing better to do but talk about things that most normal people don't really care about. Since my camp that I am going to for the next six weeks ends at 2:15 pm and I will spend most of my afternoon in my mother's office. Which means you people will see me attempting to pretend to be consistent.

Also, the high school I am going to next year is hardcore and somewhat insane, so I will try to post during the school year. It probably won't happen, so sad face. Yeah, I'm going to be a freshman taking AP Human Geography:/. Okay, so I should really get on the topic of this post and stop rambling about a high school that I haven't taken an actual class at yet so!

Finally, I am going to talk about my latest obsession which is SIX the Musical. So, everyone that is not living under a rock knows about Hamilton. Hamilton was a piece of art that needs to be hung next to the Mona Lisa. But as much as I love Hamilton and almost anything that Lin Manuel Miranda writes or sings.

For real Hamilton isn't his only musical, stop sleeping on In the Heights! Hamilton had such a well written and performed soundtrack, but it was somewhat lacking in powerful female characters. Please don't come at me like what about Angelica, Eliza, and Peggy. Yes, I know the Schuyler sisters were amazing independent female characters, but they weren't the central story of the musical.

So, I was watching my subscription videos on Youtube like any normal teenager. That's the one thing that is normal about me. Anyway, I am an active member of the 'Theatre Thursday Fam' over on Katherine Steele's channel. She was one of the main ways I discover new musical theatre soundtracks to listen to because I'm weird. And that was when I found the greatest musical I have found for this month at least: SIX the Musical. SIX is about the six wives of King Henry the VIII, so you still get the fun history lesson concept that you got with Hamilton. But this is telling the stories of women that usually are hidden by their ex's shadow. This is all about these women who shaped the monarch which was King Henry.

So, this musical is somewhat unusual in the fact that the soundtrack only has nine songs. Weird, I know Hamilton had about forty songs and Heathers had over twenty songs I believe. So nine seems crazy! This musical isn't your usual musical theatre score, it is very much influenced by pop music. Also, the songs are so well written, and tell the stories in more of a modern-day feminist view. Each of the songs has a sound that sounds like a current artist. Catherine of Aragon's song sounds very much like a Beyoncé song, while both of the beheaded song (All You Want to Do and Don't Lose Your Head) sound very early 2000s girl group or pop singer aka sound like a Britney Spears moment. But I can say that do enjoy almost all of the songs on the soundtrack minus Heart of Stone Jane Seymour's song. Personally I hate ballads or slow songs in general, so that is mainly a personal thing against it. But I can strongly recommend Don't Lose Your Head, Ex-Wives, and Haus of Holbein.

That's all I have for now, but I am trying to write around my schedule more. That means I have to cut back on the reading a little bit, but I can spend more time doing other things I enjoy like writing for this blog. So I will see you soon. Bye Loves! <3
