Over the Labor Day weekend, I read the Popular by Maya Van Wagenens. This has been the first book I have read in a while that I completely fell in love with. So this book is a personal story or memoir about the author when she was in the eighth grade. It's starts of with her dad getting her this book: Betty Cornell's Teenage Popularity Guide from the 1950's. Then her mother recommends that Maya follows the books tips for the entire school year. This how the experiment was born, the journey up the social ladder and to find popularity and the meaning of it. I find it to be great and inspiring story about how popularity comes in many forms and it is not the end all be all. I also like how this book acknowledges that cliques exists, because they do. I say this because the movies over exaggerate the clique clichIe. But it's real, mainly stay with the same group of friends that you have had since sixth grade to eighth. So, I like this book a lot, and think that all middle school girls should read this book.

Thank you so much, go read this book it is amazing and spread the love of the book. Love ya! <3

I don't own the picture of the book cover popular
