The Ki to Everything: Summers

Hello to you awesome readers of mine,

Thanks for coming to listen to me rant about some random thought I had while riding in the back seat of the car. Because isn't that where you have some of the weirdest and most random thoughts come to mind, but anyway we are here to talk about one word: Summer. Since in my school district the last day of school is the last day of May. And just like every student summer is the one thing on our minds.

So I was thinking, summer is one of the most anticipated season of the year. Mainly for the mostly nice weather and the fact there is no school in session. If you are like most people you probably imagine what your summer is going to be like during the school year, and if you are like most you most likely do it in the middle of class while your teacher or professor talks about something that is completely irrelevant to you because you don't care.

But I was thinking, when we think of our ideal summer, what is do you think of?

Well, it's usually includes the stock photo image looking idea. The idea of actually talking and making memories with some of your closest friends, but it will eventually turn into all of you sitting in a circle on Instagram. It may sound very stereotypical for Millennials or Gen-Z. But it is the truth in some cases, we all want that nice Insta worthy photo; so we get it, post it, then do then return to our small screens.

Also like most of my middle school peers, we hope that the summer will be spent doing what you want to do when you want to do it. I was hoping that my mother would forget about signing my up for meaningless science camps. But with my trash luck, oh she remembered! Why do you go to these science camps if you hate them so much? My mother loves cheap or free things, and guess what programs get grants from the great of Texas so they are free? That's right STEM or science camps. And my mom is loves to cut corners or save in any type of way. So, if she can save about 100 dollars each week from me not attending a normal summer camp she will do it. So I don't even get a real summer, it's more of like me taking extra higher level courses in the summer,  not receiving a single highschool credit. My life in a literal nutshell. I know it's really dumb, but it's how my life works.

Summer Traveling! The thing we all want to do, but not all of us are blessed or rich enough to do. I usually go farther than 45 minutes out of my city. I rarely go anywhere that is considered cool or exotic. The farthest I have been I've been from my home is Disney World, and that was a school trip during the school year. I am going to New York this summer, and I am so excited to leave this large irrelevant state. But usually my summer includes me sitting at home on  the weekend, because you know that have science camps during the week. Sitting on my bed scrolling through my Instagram feed, that is filled with an obnoxious amount of people taking pictures of their beautiful vacations. It doesn't help that they are in places that I probably have to sell my house to afford. France, Spain, England, China, Korea, Japan, Thailand.

Basically all the places that it would take a medium sized loan to be able to visit. If you are like me and don't have the money or three wishes from a Genie William Smith. I feel you so sit down in your bed with you hot cup of ramen and just live through your friends or random Instagram models. Because you won't be able to get there for awhile. Unless you randomly see a small bag of 100,000 dollars sitting on your door step, which will mostly likely not happen.

Let's get to the real stuff! You reading this right now! Yes, you! You probably supposed to be doing so type of summer reading or work packet. But, you are sitting here reading some antisocial girl's blog. Well, I understand that but please eventually do your work. Don't start it at eight o'clock at night, the Sunday night before the first day.

I hope you somewhat enjoyed my pointless rant about summer expectations that probably won't happen. So, I hope you come back next time. Remember to subscribe to get notifications when I post. Most of summer will be spent writing. So you hear from me alot more than during the school year. Lots of love! See you next time.
